Additional information
- Personal items: We know
how many details you have to pay attention to when traveling, or even
simply when you don’t have your own vehicle to drive. It can
be an easy oversight to leave things behind in the car when you return
it. This can be a frustrating and stressful accident.
While not responsible for any items left in the rental vehicles, we do
our best to contact our customers when/if we find anything of value
remaining in them. For your sake, please try to remember to take all of
your personal belongings with you when you return the car to us.
- Flat tires: All of our
vehicles are equipped with spare tires. If you get a flat
tire, place the spare tire on the vehicle, and call us as soon as
office hours open at 243-4444. Please do not use Fix-A-Flat
or any form of chemical repair.
- Mechanical failure: We
pride ourselves on the way we prepare a vehicle new to our
fleet. We take pride in maintaining our vehicles.
We also take pride in how we respond to our customers when they report
experiencing concerns with their rental vehicle.
If you have reason to believe there is a mechanical concern with the
rental, please contact us right away. Our on-site mechanic
can usually take care of the problem efficiently, getting you on your
way as quickly as possible.
- Vehicle damage: We are
very familiar with all of the cars in our fleet. We know they
have normal wear and tear. Our cars are well-cared for.
Please look them over carefully before driving out of our lot. If the
vehicle incurs damage in any way while you are renting it, please
contact us immediately. Do not drive it if there is any possibility
that more damage could be done to the vehicle.
If the vehicle is blocking traffic in some way, move it to a
safe location. Call a tow truck if need be. Even seemingly
minor damage should be reported in a timely manner. This
might include flat tires, or glass breakage, such as a windshield or
side mirror. We appreciate being notified even of something
as seemingly minor as a rock chip. If you are unable to reach us, leave
a message with an effective way to contact you and we will decide what
steps to take to care for the vehicle and get you back on the road.
- 3rd party responsibility:
These responsibilities include those of insurance companies,
dealerships, and body shops. If your personal vehicle is in the shop
and you are renting a car, a 3rd party may have indicated they will pay
for you to rent a car. Even though they have made a verbal,
or even sometimes written, commitment to you, you are ultimately
responsible for the rental.
We will work with you to obtain the proper documentation to charge the
appropriate party for the rental. If this is not possible in
a timely manner, we will charge your credit card for the amount of the
rental. You can then present our receipts or invoice showing
payment of the rental to the responsible 3rd party in an attempt to be
reimbursed.
